To the Loschwitzer Höhe (Loschwitz Heights) with the oldest suspension railway in the world:
For more than 100 years, the Suspension Railway and the Cable Car have defined the picturesque Loschwitz Elbe slopes. The bottom station of the Dresden Suspension Railway is just a few steps away from our Stop „Blaues Wunder / Grundstrasse“. After travelling a rail length of 274 meters (around 300 yards), you will reach the top station with a viewing platform at 84 meters (around 92 yards) height on the Loschwitzhöhe in Oberloschwitz (please note: the viewing platform is not wheelchair accessible!). At the top station you will experience the most beautiful panoramic view over the Dresden Elbe valley. For young and old fans of technology there are interesting exhibitions about the operation and history of the railways.
Schedule:
- 13 mins. footpath from Stop Blaues Wunder / Grundstrasse to suspension railway bottom station
- 2A ride with the Suspension Railway (optionally with Cable Car): one way 10 mins.
- 3Top station – viewing platform with café and panoramic view, Suspension Railway Museum
- 4After the ride back down you can take a stroll through the picturesque neighbourhood of Loschwitz
- 5Big Sightseeing Tour departs at Stop „Blaues Wunder / Grundstrasse“ (last bus: 5:55 p.m.)
